Jack's family could not get his skin issues under control

Mac when surrendered to foster care and then after grooming. (He wasn't really wanted and lived in a kennel. Neighbor kids would let him out to play and he would disappear for days at a time.)

Mindy was in a shelter; she had 4 home in 3 years.

Winston, a victim of divorce.

Murphy was only 7 months old when he came into foster care. He came in because the family anticipating a grandchild and a lot of travel. They didn't feel he would do well in this situation.

Scotty (now Harley 2) was a typical Westie who would run off if he was left loose in an unfenced area. The family wanted to camp and horse ride without putting him on leash.

Shelby (now Sophie) was Scotty's partner in crime.

Oscar was surrendered when the family was expecting their first grandchild and knew he would not do well with a baby

Wesley was surrendered when a new baby was anticipated

Teak was surrendered because he could not be trusted around the neighbor children. He was considered good around adults.

MICKEY had skin issues that his family could not continue to deal with.

Snowball (age 13) and Penny (age 8) were dumped in a shelter pen with a note. Club members and volunteers formed a transport with six different drivers to move them across the state for medical and foster care. After caring for worms, fleas, dental issues (Snowball had 7 teeth removed along with numerous warts), they were placed together in their forever home.

Rocky and Taffy were given up because, while mom was vacuuming and Taffy was overexcited, the child decided to kiss her on the nose. Taffy accidentally bit her under the chin. These two had 3 litters.

Five-year-old Cody was given up because of his owner's health issues. He was very much loved but she was not able to continue giving him the care he needed. Cody had some small issues to work on in foster care but is a loving dog who enjoys giving kisses.

Scottie had his sixth birthday while in foster care. His owner decided to move to a condo which did not accept dogs. Scottie is a very "mild-mannered" little boy. He may have had a previous injury to his trachea since he does frequently do "reverse sneezing" and wears a harness to protect his neck but vets say he is fine. He doesn't care to be lifted from the front but is fine if support is given to his back end. He loves to kiss and loves his humans.

Teeger came in to foster care because her older owners were no longer able to care for her properly. Her mom was in a wheelchair and dad developed a serious illness. Teeger was shaved down to make her care more manageable. Teeger is very shy and skittish but is also loving and playful.

Dunkin's family loves him and realize that, with a third child on the way, they just can't give him the time and attention he needs. Dunkin is a well-behaved Westie with quite a bit of training. However, when mom is away a lot and busy with the family, Dunkin has some tummy problems. He will sometimes mark or try to get out of the yard when he feels neglected. So he came into Rescue in hopes of finding an adult family with a stay-at-home member so he won't have to be alone.

Henry and his sister, LuLu came into foster care because their family was moving and unable to take them along.

Toby was a gift. His mom found didn't really want a dog and found him to be too clingy and felt he barked too much. Another warning to not give dogs as gifts!!! It works about as well as arranged marriages!

Casper and Lucky were given up because of divorce.

Robbie was originally in a home with children who did not treat him well. He found his way to another home but because the other dogs did not like him, he lived outdoors in an area that has a coyote problem! Robbie (who is only 1-2 years old) was a mess when he came in. He had fleas and worms. He had scratched and chewed off much of his coat. He had scars from dog fights. He tested positive for heartworm. His x-rays showed an enlarged heart and congested lungs. He has now been neutered and being treated for his various ills. He will be treated for the heartworm and be in foster care for quite a long time as a result. But his health issues can all be "fixed". He is learning what it means to live indoors and be treated like a member of a family.

Ten-year-old Scotty came to Rescue when his owner moved into an assisted living center. Scotty has some hearing loss and his eyesight isn't as keen as it once was, but these things don't hold him back. He is a very sweet, loving little boy.
