MEET OUR FOSTER BABIES!
We would like to share some of the special pictures that we have taken of the rescue dogs that we foster. They become a "special part" of our homes and our lives we thought you might like to meet them.
Responsible breeders always take care of their own dogs. Rescue gets the puppy mill dogs, strays and dogs that are given up because the "not so responsible" breeders and pet stores won't stand behind their dogs.
Winston came into rescue on May 8th, 2004 he stayed with us until the end of May when he went to his forever home. Mozart, Annie and Watson enjoyed his company. We still miss him!

Winnie came into foster care as a result of a divorce. On New Year's Eve, the kids snuck out of bed and it looks like they had a party!!!

Duncan came into Forster care in October 2003. When a foster comes into our home they automatically become a Michigan State Fan! Mozart, Annie and Duncan were dressed for the big State Vs U of M game. Duncan was placed in December, he has a wonderful forever home. His Mom and Dad brought him to the club rescue parade in April and we enjoyed seeing him again.

Mike came into foster care and we soon realized he had cateracts. After his surgery he had to wear a "collar" to protect his eyes. But that didn't stop him from going to Club Member, Bev Walker's, Summer Soltice Party!!

Annie came to our Foster home in February 2003. She was very sick and almost died. She is a tough little girl and pulled through. We adopted her and she now helps with other foster dogs. She is still learning to be "Sweet" and not so "Bossy." This is the one and only picture that I have of her being "Sweet". She is with Willie who was in Foster care for eight months. Willie spent time with several of our Foster familles over his eight months in care. He is a very special little guy and has found a wonderful forever home. I'm sure that our Willie Boy will be in our hearts forever.

Sarah was dumped at a Meijer parking lot only about 5 miles from a shelter! She was probably 12 years or so and was showing her age. She wrote a poem which we read at our annual Rescue Parade. She found a wonderful new family and she gives back all the love she receives.

Max was the first dog that we took in from rescue to foster. He came to us in January 2003 and was place mid-February. He was a great dog, smart, obedient and gentle. It felt so rewarding to see him placed in a new, loving forever home. I did cry when I saw him walking to the car with his new Mom, Dad and sister Daisy. They still send us pictures and little notes to let us know how he is doing. "We Love You Max"

Mindy came from a shelter in the thumb area having been in 3 homes in 4 years: ostensibly she couldn't be housebroken. She had a wonderful personality and was in foster care for 6-7 weeks. During that time we worked with her on her "potty problem." Mindy went to her new home where she has her own people-sized swimming pool and a lake where she can bark at the ducks and geese all day long. After three homes Mindy now has a wonderful forever home. She still visits us and we enjoy having her! After a hard day of playing, Mindy is tucked away for the night.

Maggie was our first foster dog. Maggie loved to play ball with anybody who will throw it to her - all day long if possible. She wore Watson down, he would go up to bed and she would still be playing. Yes, she was and still is a playing machine. She was in foster care for 5 weeks before going to live on a farm. She now has a Chihuahua to play with and a lot of land to play onSmile for the camera, Maggie!

When Daisy came into our home the rear half of her body had been shaved because she was allergic to flea bites. With medication and daily care for her skin it improved quickly. She wasn't in any pain but didn't look as pretty as she does now. Her hair has all grown back and she has a beautiful coat to go along with her loving personality. She went to her forever home where she has three other dogs to run and play with. Her new Mom and Dad love her and are very happy with her. They are good about giving us "Daisy-Up Dates." Daisy cheers for another Michigan touchdown!

Scotty was surrendered by his owners because he and his sister Westie kept running off when they went camping or horseback riding. (This is why Rescue insists Westies be kept on leash when outside of a fenced area.) He seemed to want to be an "only" dog and is now happily living with a retired man and his wife ; he has a fenced yard and goes running and walking with mom and dad every day.
